Bathstore has helped to raise £52,000 (£52,719.55 to be exact!) for the Princess Alice Hospice from the inaugural Princess Alice Hospice Midnight Walk held at the weekend.
Bathstore were one of the main sponsors of the event which attracted 300 people to walk the 13.1 mile course which passed through Richmond, Twickenham and Kew and was held in memory of loved ones who received care at the hospice. The walk was held on Saturday 6th September 2008 and was open to everyone over the age of 14 and proved to be a huge success as families took part together.
Event partner Pools on the Park, Richmond Pools on the Park, Old Deer Park Richmond TW9 2SF ensured everyone was in the mood as a member of staff donned a bright blue wig to lead the warm-up sessions. The swimming centre has also very kindly donated one free swim for every participant.
Along the route, walkers were encouraged by a dedicated band of volunteer marshals who handed out bananas and chocolate and cheered them to the finishing line where a well-deserved breakfast awaited.
